Description
Domaine Porte Rouge, Chateauneuf-du-Pape Tradition 2019 | What happens when you want to go into the family business and your mom owns one of the most iconic vineyards in Chateauneuf-du-Pape (Domaine du Pegau)? Well, for Justine and Maxim, the answer was, you get to figure things out on your own. Laurence Feraud gave her children 3.5 hectares of old vines and told them to figure it out. Which is a gift — to them and to us. The wines from Porte Rouge are ready to drink early, with an earthiness and depth that is unexpected for wines this young. |
Domaine Du Pegau, Chateauneuf-du-Pape, Cuvee Reserve 2020 | Domaine Pegau has been a gold standard since the 1980s when Laurence Feraud took over the winemaking at her family’s estate. Using all 13 legally allowed varieties, though generally 80% Grenache the wines have bright fruit but tend to have a tobacco like finish. |
M. Chapoutier, La Bernardine, Châteauneuf du Pape 2021 | “La Bernardine” is the name of the house, sitting in the middle of the vineyards, which was bought by Michel Charpoutier’s grandfather. The winery currently holds the status as the most awarded winery with more 100 point scores from Robert Parker than any other winemaker in the world. |
